Basic materials will be provided, period construction techniques will be taught, and stays will be constructed during the course of the workshop, with some work expected between classes. Complete illustrated instructions and historical information will also be provided. This workshop is limited to eight participants.

Gown Draping
This one day workshop provides participants with a custom fitted master pattern and the skills to drape and construct a c.1770's gown. Through discussion of historical styles, demonstrations of draping techniques and individual fittings and assistance, each participant will leave the workshop with a personalized pattern, a partially constructed gown and the instructions and confidence to complete the project at home. Approximately 5 yards of gown fabric & basic sewing kit must be supplied by the participant, all other materials are provided. This workshop is limited to ten participants.
Silk Bonnets
This half-day workshop looks at the prevalence and variety of bonnets worn during the second half of the 18th century. After trying various bonnet styles on, each participant will create a unique pattern for her own bonnet. All materials, including black silk taffeta for the outer covering, are included in the workshop. Construction methods will be taught and complete printed instructions will be provided. This workshop is limited to fifteen participants.
Jacket Pattern Drafting Learn how to enlarge a flat pattern diagram to full-size and redraft the pattern to fit an individual body. A typical late 18th century jacket pattern will be used for this workshop. Through a hands-on learning process, each participant will gain a better understanding of how to work with scaled pattern diagrams in costume books, create a properly fitted muslin pattern and receive the information necessary to complete the jacket at home. Complete printed instructions will be provided. This workshop is limited to ten participants.

This workshop is available as a half-day or full-day class and is limited to twenty participants.
